In this lesson you will learn how to identify bonding domains that can exist on a molecule. Using these, you will learn how to construct a table to help visualize observed trends. It is important that you are able to do this. You will learn how to put these domains into shapes that involve three-dimensions. Through this lesson, make sure to work through molecular compounds and identify the molecular shape. Make sure that you understand the VSEPR theory that is used to predict the shapes of molecules based on the fact that the electron pairs want to be oriented away as far as possible. Practice with the tutor site listed below and also in the PowerPoint because being able to recognize molecular geometry is very important and useful in chemistry.
